Can't I Just Watch the Game?

I've always thought that women don't often receive much recognition when it comes to sports and their knowledge and interest in it ... and tonight I was proved absolutely correct. I'm sitting in a bar & grill in Minneapolis having dinner with a female co-worker while watching MNF. We're in the Twin Cities in the first place to weigh Adrian Peterson on a giant soup spoon-shaped scale in Chunky soup tomorrow, but that's besides the point. The restaurant manager comes up to the two of us to let us know that he can 'change the channel from the football game if we'd like to watch something else.' Yeah, okay, try it.

Maybe Next Year?

So maybe this year isn't our year? After making a dramatic entrance into OT, the Jets managed to somehow fall flat on their faces again ... like Chris Baker who would have put the Jets in field goal range if he hadn't dropped the pass. Ugh - the agony of being a Jets fan. Maybe we need throwback jerseys every week.

Taking a pass at my first entry

Okay ... so I've never blogged before and the idea of creating a blog was a bit scary, but then I thought, I'm definitely opinionated, so how difficult could this be? I started to think - what on earth could I possibly write about? Then it hit me like Pollard taking out Brady in week one. I could speak sports from a woman's point of view. I mean, after all, who doesn't want to hear what a woman has to say?

I'll begin by telling you a little about myself. Take a look at my name and you won't be surprised to learn I'm a Jets fan. And yes - once again, I will say this is our year. Is it because we finally have a QB that doesn't throw floaters so high and slow that I feel like I can run down 32 steps from section 108 to get to them before Coles or the defense, for that matter? Nope. It's because Jets fans have toughed it out and we've not only weathered the storm, we've weathered the typhoon! It's hard work being a fan of the green - it takes perseverance and dedication, but let's face it, I love the challenge. As Jets fans, we deserve this!

Stay tuned for more from me ...
